We received a call from the RCMP to respond to Evans Valley in Golden Ears Provincial Park for an injured hiker. The subject had broken his ankle while hiking out on the Evans Valley trail. We responded with eight members and called Coquitlam SAR for assistance. They were able to supply four additional members. A hasty team reached the subject and stabilized his injured foot. It was determined that a stretcher carry would be long and hazardous for the SAR members and the subject, so North Shore Rescue was contacted to perform a HET's extraction. The subject was moved to a more accessible location using a safety belay and then successfully evacuated and driven to Ridge Meadows Hospital. An ATV was used to transport equipment into the location.

We were requested by BCAS through PEP ECC to respond to Gold Creek for a stranded person in Gold Creek. The subject had climbed over a fence to photograph the waterfall when he slipped on the rocks and fell into the water. He was washed over the falls and was swept to a rock midstream. A parks employee made his way to the subject and was able to assist him to a safer location on a rock. We arrived at the same time as MR Fire Department. Several attempts were made to retrieve the subjects. We then put a rescue swimmer in the water who was able to make her way to the subjects and with a tag line, they were pulled to shore. The subject was taken to hospital for observation.
